Product Information

Even when the original engine protection bar is installed, the valve covers on the ShiftCam Boxer are very quickly affected by stone strikes, branches, sharp rocks, falls on rough terrain, or—even worse—a collision. Scratches are the least of your problems. It is important to remember that the design of the ShiftCam valve actuation in 1250s ShiftCam engines is highly intricate, so it makes sense to equip the cylinder head with protective guards. Since the exposed valve covers are mounted using only force locking, there is a risk of displacement relative to the cylinder head after any severe impact, and the intricate valve actuation can be pulled out with it in certain situations. This makes additional protection for the cylinder head particularly important, especially under intensive use. This is why our engineers' to-do list included making sure that the cylinder head protection not only protects the cylinder head and valve cover, but also protects the original engine protection bar and provides it with additional structural stability.
